In the early months of 2020, we accommodated the medical staff of the Policlinico Sant’Orsola-Malpighi during the critical phases of the health emergency. Our facility has always remained open, helping the community and gaining the knowledge to ensure safety and serenity for all those who choose Savhotel Aemilia.

What have we learned and what countermeasures have we adopted?

 

1. COMPLETE AIR EXCHANGE

 

Did you know that air exchange is one of the key measures to counter the spread of COVID-19? This is because the Sars-CoV-2 virus is transmitted primarily through aerosol droplets that remain suspended in the air.

Thanks to dedicated intake and extraction systems, we ensure complete air exchange in the rooms, meeting rooms, our Gurmè restaurant, and all common areas. This mechanism guarantees the highest safety standards. Examples of the efficiency of our systems:

 

  • Rooms: complete air exchange every 36 minutes.

 

  • Restaurant: complete air exchange every 6 minutes.

 

  • Conference rooms: complete air exchange every 6 minutes.

Guests in the restaurant can view an air quality measurement tool, displaying CO2 concentration in real-time. The lower the concentration, the safer the environment, with the message “Excellent” appearing if the air quality meets the required standards.

 

2. SOCIAL DISTANCING

Another important aspect is the spacious areas we have, which allow us to maintain the required social distancing. To further prevent the transmission of the virus, we have implemented:

 

  • Entry and waiting procedures at the reception, restaurant, and common areas to ensure social distancing. Temperature checks for everyone entering the hotel. Access is not allowed for anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms or a body temperature above 37.5°C.

 

  • The Gurmè Restaurant, covering 220 sqm, is spacious and bright, allowing for safe social distancing between seating.

 

  • Room service is available for breakfast and dinner with a wide selection of products, safely delivered by our staff.

 

  • The Buffet Breakfast has been reorganized, with staff serving products instead of self-service. Anti-droplet barriers have been added, and access paths are organized to avoid crowding.

 

3. DAILY CLEANING AND SANITIZATION

Another possible source of contagion is contact surfaces. At the restaurant, we use “Virkon,” a disinfectant originally created for operating rooms, which is sprayed on buffet contact points and tables after every meal.

Cleaning has always been one of our strengths: even during the ongoing health emergency, we can assure you that our commitment to cleanliness is complete, with high standards and no compromises.
We carry out:

 

  • Daily cleaning and sanitization of common areas, corridors, reception desk, sofas, tables, and all contact points (e.g., elevator buttons).

 

  • A complete cleaning and disinfection of the rooms with every change of guests, ensuring maximum hygiene for a stay with zero risks and complete relax.

 

  • At the Gurmè Restaurant, through the use of the product “Virkon,” each table is sanitized at the end of the meal.

 

  • Hand sanitizing gel dispensers are available for guests in all common areas: lobby, lounges, corridors, restaurant, meeting rooms.

 

4. STAFF TRAINING

Information is one of the most important tools for limiting the spread of the virus. Therefore, we believe that our professionalism requires continuous updating and sharing of what we know with all our guests.

 

  • Through specific training, the staff has been qualified and appropriately trained in all areas regarding hygiene rules and the measures to follow.

 

  • The receptionists are available 24/7 to provide any information related to the COVID-19 safety procedures implemented by our hotel.

 

5. OUR COMMITMENT TO CONFERENCE SERVICES SAFETY

Aemilia Hotel features a large and modern Conference Center, chosen every year by prestigious local and national companies. We have dedicated particular care to finding the best solutions to ensure and protect the health of our guests while maintaining the comfort that distinguishes our meeting area. The main safety measures include:

 

  • The quality of the air is guaranteed by filtered ventilation systems that provide a complete air exchange every 6 minutes.

 

  • A self-service station with essential sanitary devices for all event participants.

 

  • Temperature measurement of all meeting participants before entering the conference rooms.

 

  • Meeting space and exhibition area organization to ensure controlled entry and legal social distancing within the event spaces.

 

  • A dedicated cloakroom for participants’ clothing and personal belongings.

 

  • Daily cleaning and disinfection of all meeting room spaces and contact points.

 

  • In full compliance with OMS and ISS guidelines, the catering area will have distanced seating, with meals served to tables by staff.
